2023 Suwannee River PeaceMaker Paddle

2023 Suwannee River PeaceMaker Paddle

Raised: $88,596.12 Goal: $117,550.00

September 29-30 -- Based at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, FL

This will be Adventure Fundraising at its finest.  This is an enjoyable two day moderate paddle beginning at the Suwannee River State Park and traveling downstream on one of the most beautiful stretches of the historic Suwannee River near Dowling Park, FL.

The Suwannee River plays an important part in geological history as it is the remnents of the prehistoric Suwannee Straits that separated the North American Continent from peninsular Florida.  It is better known today because of the Stephen Foster song and its magnificent dark water and clear springs.

The enjoyable paddle in giant Voyageur canoes is but a part of the experience. Making new friends with other motivated and caring people may be your biggest "take away."  But the real joy comes in the community experience and in making a difference in the lives of people who live with disabilities, differences, and special needs.

It is hoped that each paddler will set a fundraising goal of at least $5,000 to help drive us forward to a winter ground breaking for the first step in StirringWaters.

Sponsor information can be found if you click here

Anyone can sign up to be a PeaceMaker.  Those who sign up and raise at least $1000 will be given an official PeaceMaker Paddle shirt.  Those who raise at least $5000 will be guaranteed a seat in a big canoe, double occupancy housing, and meals.

Because of the nature of the big canoes we use, people with limited physical mobility may be able to participate.

More information is available on our gopeacemakers.com website where we coordinate all our paddles.
