Let's Work Together!
I am a big proponent of peace -- peace with God, peace with my fellow man, and peace with my natural surroundings. On September 29-30, 2023, I plan to be on the historic Suwannee River, enjoying a paddle to benefit people and families living with disabilities, differences, and special needs. With over one billion people in the world living with disabilities, it is going to take us all to make a real difference.
When I participate in the 2023 PeaceMaker Paddle I will be 83 years of age. Maybe not really, really old, but definitely not young. SO WHY DO IT? Because "to whom much is given, much is required." I am not a super or even average athlete, but God has blessed me with physical and mental abilities not enjoyed by all.
I sincerely care about the welfare of others, particularly those with disabilities, differences, and special needs. I want to see them smile, have joyful experiences, and know that God loves them. If my paddling on a river is a way to allow my family, friends, church, community, and others to give to help build an appropriate aquatic experience where no one is left on the deck, but all can get into the fun, then it is definitely worth the effort.
After my participation in the 2022 PeaceMaker Paddle I realized it was worth the 82 years wait to be able to participate in that historic event. God used that experience to refine my life and I know He will use this one to continue the process. And that is MY bonus for simply trying to help others.
I hope you will be able to join me in making a difference. Will you either paddle with me, donate to help me make my goal, or support one of the other paddlers? Many were generous last year and I am praying even more will be generous this year.
