If you know me you know I have reason to care about creating an exciting, therapeutic and healing aquatic experience for people and families living with disabilities.
I once led overnight canoe trips for young people -- but then life happened and that is no longer possible for me. I grew up in the water. I taught swimming lessons, was a lifeguard instructor, am married to a lifeguard instructor, and both of my children have worked as lifeguards. I know how important water experiences are to families.
SO I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP TO MAKE THOSE EXPERIENCES POSSIBLE FOR FAMILIES LIVING WITH DISABILITIES.
With the help of a life long friend, I am joining the Suwannee River PeaceMaker Paddle where I am dedicating each of my potential 12,500 strokes to the StirringWaters project at Lake Aurora Christian Camp -- my childhood home away from home. StirringWaters will be that place that currently does not exist -- a place where families living with disabilities will be able to have an enjoyable and rewarding aquatic experience where no family member will be left sitting on the deck, but everyone can get into the fun.
We are using giant canoes capable of holding 14 paddlers in one canoe -- that makes it possible for me to participate. Every dollar you can donate will be used to help build StirringWaters. Donations of any amount are very helpful.

My fundraising efforts for StirringWaters will continue until the end of this year, so, even if you cannot donate today, you still have time. Would I love to raise $100 for each of the 25 miles I will paddle? -- You bet! But, all the donations count and I thank you for caring.
