As a retired Camp Director I cannot pass up the opportunity to help Christian Camps do more to serve ALL God's children.
I like the idea of presenting a funding grant to a Christian Camp who needs just a little help to better serve -- maybe a sidewalk or ramp, a specialized piece of equipment, a pool lift, a wheelchair accessible golf car, or an accessible activity.
While each of us paddlers are required to raise at least $500 toward the grant and I will plan for that, or even more if possible.
Then all additional funds raised will go to help Removing the Barriers Initiative provide their Accessible Services to community events, loan specialized equipment to camps serving people with disabilities, or any of the other great things to do at no cost to those who benefit. Those served by RTBI include programs related to Down Syndrome, the ARC, Joni and Friends, Special Touch Ministries, Lake Aurora, Rotary Camp for Children with Disabilities, Lift Disability Network, The SportsAbility Alliance, people living with paralysis, and many more.
