I was having great fun with my friends at the age of 15...we were on a camping trip with a non-profit military group in my native Puerto Rico when my fun was over. I jumped from a tree into the river below, hit a large rock and instantly became a quadriplegic.
Many years later, I'm living in Lake Wales with my caretaker mother, María...and it was my blessing that my neighbor is Bill Redmon! Bill has been a huge positive to my life. He cares for me, he has made a difference in my life, he has provided me with accessible equipment to be able to move around better, with a rover chair that can take me places like the beach which I had not been to in so many years, with a wheelchair accessible golf car in which I lead a golf car parade, with disability services that I was not aware were out there, but most importantly, he makes my life matter.
I want to help Bill in building StirringWaters, not only for me, but for the many that are wheelchair-restricted and that want to be able to improve their lives through fun and exercise. "Blessed are you who respect me and love me as I am, and not like you wish I were." Blessed are the PeaceMakers! Blessed is Bill Redmon!
